Pretty sweet, and probably not worth 9k, except to a Japanese car collector.

It was for sale, unpainted, in Washington about 6 months ago. I wonder why the new owner is selling it already.

I was wondering if it was just the same one. I noticed the ad was similarish and that thr original color was the same as the last one... Looks like he’s just flipping it, and using the new paint job to hide more rust?

I think they meant “was original paint before half-ass rattlecanned black primer.” Cool car, but spooky.

I wonder if he’s flipping it, or if he found more rust than he could handle and thought he’d hide it with a quick spray. Shame. I really wanted that car. The front 3/4 is gorgeous, though the rear is kind of bleh.

Another one bites the dust I suppose.

Hopefully this car is enough of a niche find that someone will find it and restore it. Not very many people search for toyota crowns on CL I’m guessing.

Funny, I wonder if the seller knows people stalk ads for cars like this and know the history. I like to think the rattle can primer is there to protect the metal, but it is likely just to hide how bad it looked before. Spend 40K+ to have maybe a 15-20K at best car when finished, why not? And it’s on CL 500 miles from home in another country, awesome. He needs to sell it at real world money to someone who will save it before it becomes a parts car.

I do, although only for the wagon. Even more of a unicorn.
